MEDIATION SERVICES

Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party (mediator) helps resolve legal issues.  Often it is used for issues arising  during a divorce, such as child custody or property distribution.  The mediator will not advocate for either party but assists the parties in solving the issues.  Mediation is much less stressful and a less expensive option than going to trial.  It allows the parties to make productive decisions and develop creative options to resolve difficult issues.

DIVORCE/FAMILY LAW

I recognize the frustration and stress that arise when two people decide to end their marriage. It is a challenging time for spouses and their children.  With the emotional weight of a divorce, it's important to have someone to advocate for your best interests and pursue results that benefit your future.  My expertise in divorce and family law means I can offer invaluable counsel whether you wish to resolve the divorce proceedings through mediation or through a trial.

ADOPTIONS

I handle all kinds of adoptions, including private adoptions and those through agencies.  Often, a stepparent decides to assume financial and legal responsibility for a spouse's child. The procedures for those adoptions can be more straightforward.  I also handle contested adoptions, such as those involving grandparents or others.

MODIFICATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT

If financial circumstances have changed-- the paying parent gets a new job or promotion, or suffers a job layoff or other hardship --the court can be petitioned to modify support upward or downward.  Similarly, I can assist if a parent has stopped paying child support.

CRIMINAL LAW
